SUPPORT & GETTING STARTED

A little help goes a long way.

A few practical pointers for a smoother start with Moon Meld Renamer.

Moon Meld Renamer

Your first naming workflow

  1. 01

    Bring your files

Add files or a folder, or drag them in from Finder. Choose filters and recursion when you need them.

  2. 02

    Make a naming plan

Start simple, or combine workflow rules. Compare the original and new names before making changes.

  3. 03

    Rename, with a way back

Confirm the batch and folder permissions. View the result and use history if you need to restore names.

SEE IT IN ACTION

Before you press Rename

Check every change

Compare original and proposed names. Rules protect extensions by default; manual overrides take precedence.

Resolve conflicts

Conflicts block the batch by default. You can choose to skip or append a suffix, and review that result before running.

Choose what to access

Authorize every selected folder. Folder imports are not recursive unless you choose that option. Packages and symbolic links are not traversed.

Keep a way back

History defaults to 30 days and supports restoring names. External changes or occupied targets can block recovery; cancellation attempts to restore the batch.

Multi-file renaming is not a system-level atomic transaction. Keep a backup of important files, and review the preview carefully.
